Eligibility Criteria
The applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria to be considered for the Shanghai Government Scholarship.
1. Language Proficiency: Generally, applicants should attain a Chinese proficiency level of HSK4 and fulfill the language requirements of the chosen university and program. If the previous education institution’s medium of instruction was in English, provide an English Language Proficiency Certificate.
2. Nationality: All countries worldwide are eligible, except for Chinese citizens. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and must be in good health.
3. Age Criteria:

∙ Master’s degree program applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.

6. Exclusion from Other Scholarships: Applicants who have already received any other scholarships from the Chinese government or organizations are not eligible to apply for the Shanghai Government Scholarship.

Shanghai Government Scholarship SGS has two types of scholarships:
